Mounting accessories for polycarbonate

We offer a comprehensive range of accessories for the installation of multiwall and solid polycarbonate sheets, including:

Breathable Sealing Tape

Breathable sealing tape should be applied to the lower edge of the polycarbonate sheet, on the front-facing side of the canopy. It allows moisture to escape from the internal channels while helping to prevent dirt and insects from entering.

Solid Sealing Tape

Solid sealing tape should be applied along the entire length of the upper edge of the polycarbonate sheet. When using F-shaped end profiles, applying solid sealing tape to the side edges of the sheet is also recommended. It provides a suitable surface for profile installation, ensuring a better fit and improved stability.

F-Shaped End Profile

The F-shaped profile should be slid onto the edges of the polycarbonate sheet that have previously been sealed with tape. Along the upper edge of the sheet, the profile should be installed with the drip edge facing upwards, while along the lower edge, the drip edge should face downwards to ensure proper water drainage.

If F-shaped profiles are also used to finish the side edges of the canopy, they should be installed with the drip edge facing upwards. At the corners, the profiles should be cut to size and joined at a 45-degree angle to achieve a neat and watertight finish.

U-Shaped End Profile

The polycarbonate U-shaped profile should be slid onto the edge of the sheet that has previously been sealed with tape. We recommend using the polycarbonate U-shaped profile exclusively along the upper edge of the sheet when roofing flashing is planned.

The U-shaped profile is available in two colour options: clear and smoke brown.

H-Shaped Connecting Profile

The polycarbonate H-shaped connecting profile is primarily used for short-span canopies and structures in which the sheets are supported by battens.

The profile should be slid onto the edge of the sheet and then secured to the supporting structure using screws.

Aluminium Clamping Profile

The aluminium clamping profile is installed at sheet joints and along the outer rafters. Before installation, the appropriate sealing gasket must be fitted into the profile.

S-229 Profile Gasket

The gasket must not be pulled or stretched during installation, as this may cause it to elongate and subsequently shrink. When joining gasket sections lengthwise, avoid applying tension to ensure a watertight seal and prevent leaks.

SD-12 EPDM Gasket

The SD-12 EPDM gasket should be applied at the joints between polycarbonate sheets. It should also be used along the first and last rafters where aluminium clamping profiles are installed.

The specially designed grooves in the gasket provide the necessary expansion clearance, allowing for thermal movement of the polycarbonate sheet of up to 2 cm. This clearance must be maintained during installation to ensure proper thermal expansion and long-term durability of the canopy.

Acoustic Foam Tape

We recommend using acoustic foam tape on the remaining rafters where the polycarbonate sheets are not joined using aluminium clamping profiles.

For timber structures, the foam tape can be additionally secured to the rafters using a staple gun to prevent it from shifting during sheet positioning and installation.

Mushroom Fixing Washer

Mushroom fixing washers should be used on the remaining rafters where no connecting profiles are installed between the polycarbonate sheets.

The washers should be spaced approximately 40 cm apart.

An 8 mm diameter hole must be drilled in the sheet at each fixing point to provide sufficient clearance for the polycarbonate to expand and contract freely due to temperature changes.
